Contactless cash withdrawal in Poland

Poland, being one of the leaders in the adoption of modern payment technologies, can boast that more than half of the ATMs in the country allow cash withdrawals using contactless methods. This means that users can withdraw funds without physically inserting a card into the machine.

How Does It Work?

Withdrawing cash contactlessly using a mobile phone is a simple and convenient process. The key elements are having a phone with NFC (Near Field Communication) functionality and an installed mobile wallet application, such as Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

To withdraw cash:

  • Activate the Mobile Wallet: Open the Apple Wallet or Google Wallet app on your smartphone.

  • Select the Card: Choose the card from which you want to withdraw money.

  • Approach the ATM: Place your phone close to the ATM, at the spot marked with the NFC symbol.

  • Confirm the Transaction: Enter the card's PIN on the ATM to confirm the transaction.

Security and convenience

The process of withdrawing cash contactlessly with a card and phone is identical in terms of functionality and differs only in the method of authorization. In both cases, a contactless connection is used, followed by the necessity to enter the PIN to confirm the user's identity and authorize the transaction.

What benefits does this solution offer?

  • Security: The absence of a need to insert the card into the ATM minimizes the risk of skimming, which is the theft of card data using special devices mounted on ATMs.

  • Speed and Convenience: The process is quick and intuitive, reducing the time required to complete the transaction.

  • Modernity: The ability to use the latest payment technologies increases user comfort and meets the needs of modern consumers.

Summary

Contactless technology in ATMs is the future, which is already becoming a reality in Poland. Thanks to it, cash withdrawals are simpler, faster, and safer. Whether using a card or a mobile phone, the process is identical and equally convenient. It is worth taking advantage of these conveniences to further simplify daily financial operations.
